Singer/songwriter, Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy has stated that if Labour Party Presidential caandidate, Peter Obi did not join the race, Nigerians would have been left with nothing.

Oputa writing in pidgin English said:

There are insinuations that Charly Boy was referring to the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Atiku Abubakar and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
